How to Determine Where to Give Your Money

Here are a few questions that you can use to determine who to support and where to give back.

1. Where do you receive the most joy?

2. Where are you reminded of your divinity?

3. Where are you encouraged to fulfill your dreams?

4. Who makes you feel glad to be alive?

5. Who is doing work that you admire?

6. Who has made a true emotional investment in your life?

  • This person wants the best for you and does whatever he or she can to bring that about
  • This person looks out for your interest as well as his or her own
  • You do not have to worry about how to take care of yourself with that person. He or she is concerned about that too.

The Dedicated Poor

I was reading the little bit of J. Kennedy Shultz’s writing on prosperity. I don’t have much of his work, but I do have a few essential pages. So I thought that I’d share a little of what I have.  If you like it and have more of his work, perhaps you can send it to me or tell me where I can find it. Well, here is what he says about the dedicated poor.

The Dedicated Poor

“The dedicated rich will always get richer no matter how much money you take from them, and the dedicated poor will always get poorer no matter how much money you give to them. Because both wealth and poverty are states of consciousness. They attract and repel money automatically no matter what the world is trying to do to make us all economically equal. This accounts for the utter failure of socialism in spite of all the years of effort, and all the terrible coercion employed in trying to force it on people as a way of life. As they say, capitalism is unjust, but socialism is impossible.

During the Great Depression which began in 1929, the markets of the world crashed, the banks failed, and there was a world wide dislocation of money. There was no shortage of money as people commonly believed. It just was not circulating and feeding the economy of the world as it should. It was frozen by fear and greed. Very nearly everybody who had any money lost a lot. Some of them, all they had. But when the thaw came, and money got flowing right again, guess where it flowed! It flowed right back into the pockets of those who had it before, and right over the heads of the ones who never had much of it to begin with – because they had no sense of wealth. They were poor people. They were people who were used to looking for free and looking for cheap, and money never did come their way because you don’t really need much money if you are looking for free and looking for cheap.”

Wealth Comes Before Money

I had a great experience in Dallas, Texas last week.  I attended a two day advanced leadership and communication workshop.  This training gave me a new perspective on my personal aim and mission.   I not only saw people whose lives have been made better, I heard stories of transformation and personal accomplishments against all odds.

My personal aim is to uplift and to heal. Uplifting is helping others learn to control the direction and outcome of their lives. Healing is restoring the individual to integrity. This is the impulse that drives me. My focus in on helping others improve their personal economy, engage in extreme self-care, and maintain balance in five areas of their lives.

Although I want to help everyone who needs my help, I enjoy working with those who:

1. have a strong desire to make a difference in our world. The question that these people ask themselves is, “how many people are winning in life because of my contribution?”  If you’ve ever asked yourself this question and you want to do something to help others win, join me.

2. have a strong desire to make a personal economic change for the better. One aspect of healing is to help people heal financially.  I thought about this while listening to the many stories of financial transformation. There were so many stories of going from financial ruin to financial well being. Are you satisfied with your current level of income?

3. Are already living some aspects of a lifestyle of health and sustainability. When a person can fully live this lifestyle in the midst of all the troubles, worries, discouragements, and challenges that life brings, that person is already a health millionaire. Being a health millionaire aids you in becoming a wealth millionaire and allows you to compete for high achievement with those who are in good health. If you are not in good health, you will not be able to create a sustained focus on wealth building activities.

In the words of J. Kennedy Shultz,

“The rich are not rich because they have money. They have money because they are rich. They rise up from poverty to wealth, not because they get money, but because they first get smart about and receptive to wealth. They start with nothing going for them but their mind and the way they are using it.”
