Our team recently met an emergency room physician at one of our wellness previews that was the embodiment of one of my favorite scriptural verses.  That verse is, “You shall love the Lord thy God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.”  This physician had the experience of being ill to the brink of death and then learning to live herself fully by properly balancing three levels of her being as outlined in the verse above.

Loving God with all your heart and soul means living inner values like being true to yourself, being-honest, having integrity, and having self-respect while valuing the same in other people.

Loving God with all your mind means growing and using your intelligence to seek the truth even when the truth hurts and even when knowing and affirming the truth costs you a great deal in terms of personal, material or social gain or profit.

Loving God with all your strength means living the outer values like appreciating and taking care of your healthy body, like acquiring adequate material resources, and by building supportive physical and social environments with all your strength.

In short, loving God means loving yourself.  When you love yourself enough to live fully, you are doing what is necessary to lengthen your days and to achieve prosperity while doing it.

Choosing the right opportunity

One of the most important skills that one can acquire is “choosing the right opportunity.” In this day and age, there are so many opportunities available that people become overwhelmed.  For those who are already successful entrepreneurs, seeing and choosing the right opportunities are abilities that are already ingrained. For those who are seeking to be successful entrepreneurs, they must first discover  who they are. In the process of knowing yourself, you can discover your unique ability. Then you can focus on the opportunity that is right for you.

Dan Sullivan, of Strategic Coach, says that unique ability leads to genius teamwork. Most of us, who start a business in our youth, excel in it through sheer rugged individualism. This success often has a short life and many people flounder without ever understanding what happened. We experience a decline in our success due to the growing “ceiling of complexity.”  According to Mr. Sullivan, “those who achieve extraordinary results in their lives, spend almost all of their time in the zone of unique ability.” There comes a time in our lives when we need to shift from rugged individualism to “unique ability teamwork.”  And this is where I am during this phase of my life – in business and in my personal life.

Mr. Larry Proffit, a training and management consultant,  is coming to Chicago on September 30.  Mr. Proffit worked with Nikken’s founder, Mr. Isamu Masuda, to catapult Nikken to the forefront of the wellness industry.    For the first time since Nikken has been in North America, Mr. Proffit has agreed to do what he did with Mr. Masuda in the beginning.  His efforts took Nikken to a billion dollars in Japan in it’s first four years.

Mr. Proffit’s objective is to build an “Elite Leadership team”  designed to take anyone who puts forth the commitment to six figures in 12 months.  Prior to scheduling interviews for those interested, he will talk about what an elite leadership team is and what it takes to be part of the team.

I’ve seen Dan Sullivan and his team work their magic with successful entrepreneurs. Each team member brings his or her unique ability (strengths) to the team and that is how, as Mr. Sullivan explains, the best get better.
