Working Smart
For some time now I’ve wanted to help others become wealth creators and producers. Learning to generate wealth is one of the most important components of healthy living. The ability to make a good living is the core of the wheel of life and the spokes of the wheel serve as everything else (health, work, family, social, life planning, and so on) that require finances or barter to acquire and maintain them.
Starting a business is a daunting task and can have a long learning curve, unless you can find a real life practitioner who is willing to help you. Part of the task is changing your mindset from an employee mentality to an entrepreneur mentality. Another part of the challenge is learning how to structure the systems in your business.
I’m currently reading an amazing book which can help business builders do just that. It is called “Work the System”, by Sam Carpenter.
Sam Carpenter tells his story of how he worked at his business for 15 years, often barely breaking even. To make matters even worse, the single parent of two children even worked 100 hours a week at it, constantly handling crisis after crisis! He refused to quit, even though he was losing everything around him. He had no desire to return to the trade your time for money “work force” as an employee.
One day, when he was a few days from not being able to meet payroll and he couldn’t sleep, he had an epiphany…
This specific insight was enough to help him to begin to turn his business around… The end result was, he stopped working 100-hour weeks – and reduced his workload to just “2 hours a week”! At the same time, his business grew in success – as did his income…
I highly recommend this book for anyone wanting to make his or her business a success! Not only does it apply to any business, it applies to other areas of your life too. You can check it out on amazon.com or you can fill out the form below to find out how you can get a free copy of the book for a limited time.
